Love at First Flight

The sound of a soft knock on a wooden door echoed throught halls of Silver Melody's home. The orange pegasus zipped through the hallway and answered the door.
"Hiya Silver!" a grey pegasus smiled, "How's your scale painting project going?"
"Oh it's going well Ditzy!" Silver replied, returning the smile, "Did you bring the feather?"
Ditzy nodded, pulling out a long, thin package from her messenger bag, "Yup! The Doctor ran it though the TARDIS's photo scan thingy and made the picture appear."
Silver gently took the package from Ditzy, "Thanks Ditzy! I knew you would talk him into it!"
"You're welcome!" Ditzy said, tipping her hat, "Well, I'd better get going; I've got lots of mail to deliver. See you later Silver!"
"Bye Ditzy!" Silver waved goodbye and closed the door.
She trotted back to her room and carefully opened the package. Nestled inside some tissue paper was a pink feather, plucked from her own wing, and on the surface of the feather was the image of Silver Melody and her dracopegasus roommate and crush, Storm Warning, flying through the beautiful blue sky of Equestria. Her green eyes watered a little and a soft smile graced her lips; she remembered that day well. It was the day that she took Storm back to his hometown, Cloudsdale. All the pegasi living there welcomed him back with open arms and Storm smiled for the first time since the accident. Silver was about to leave for Ponyville when Storm stopped her. He smiled and said that although Cloudsdale was where he was born, he felt that he'd be happier in Ponyville with her. Silver beamed and took him to her home. Shaking her head to return to the present, Silver taped the box back up and began wrapping it.
"This will be an amazing gift for Storm's birthday." she whispered as she finished wrapping.
Silver Melody crept into Storm's room and found the dracopegasus fast asleep, puffing out small clouds of smoke with each soft snore. She quietly placed the present on his nightstand and placed a card next to it.
"To my beloved Storm Warning: There's an old pegasus legend that says that a pegasus' most cherished memories are imprinted in their feathers. Well, I've found mine, and I'm sure that yours is this memory too. Happy Birthday. Love Silver Melody."

This is another one of my pegasus memory feather paintings, but it's for my oc's: Silver Melody and Storm Warning. Silver had been told by Ditzy about her own feather showing the image of her meeting the Doctor and Silver asked her if he could do the same thing to one of her feathers. Ditzy agreed and took one of her feathers to the Doctor. In all honesty, I found myself stuck with a whole lot of multicolored feathers and no idea what to do with them. My local Joann's didn't have a large selection of natural looking feathers so I went with the colorful ones.
